NBN Connection FAQs
The network carrier of your property is dependent on the available network determined by your developer in Greenfields estates. If you are unsure, please send through your details and we can let you know.
You are not required to do anything at this stage. Our team will be chasing NBN for a Ready for Service date for your property and continuously trying to apply for an NBN pre-installation to your home. Once we receive the authority to make the connection to the network, we will complete the installation of the NBN equipment. If you have any queries, please send through an enquiry below.
If your connection has been recognised by NBN as within the boundary of a new development, you will incur a $300 New Developments fee through your retailer when requesting a new service. Please make payment to receive a service.
Once NBN equipment has been installed to your property, all issues related to your service connection will need to be managed and remediated through your chosen retail service provider.
An NBN Utility box, NBN Gateway (NTD), and internal and external fibres are installed to connect you to the network.

You will need to report your missing NTD with your preferred service provider. All NTDs have their own unique serial number attached to your address. We are unable to install another NTD as there will be a mismatch with the network and a service cannot be achieved.
Opticomm Connection FAQs
If your new home is being constructed within an estate serviced by the Opticomm Network, all network connections require upfront payment, which facilitates the installation of the required equipment. This is a one-time set-up fee that enables you to connect your phone, internet, or Foxtel plan through a supporting Retail Service Provider (RSP) upon settlement.
Yes, you can still make payment past the due date. Prices are fixed for Opticomm connections.
The builder can only provide provisions within the property boundary, this includes internal wiring and lead-in conduits necessary to make your home NBN/Opticomm ready. Should you choose to connect the network, all associated fees and charges for the network connection itself are the responsibility of the homeowner.
This means the network infrastructure is currently being built in your area or requires additional works to become live. Our team will be following up with the network owner to determine when connections can be made, at which point we will reach out to you with a quote. During this period we cannot provide a price as the network is still in progress.
Please ensure you have chosen a provider that supports the Opticomm network. Visit opticomm.net.au/residents-2/service-providers-2 for a list of supported providers. Note: Telstra is not available for new connections, only for existing Velocity customers. If your chosen provider is on the list, provide your lot number as Opticomm sometimes only recognises properties by lot number. If the issue persists, please send an enquiry below.
Please attach your failed installation form from Opticomm and send through an enquiry below for our team to assist. Please note that once repairs have been arranged and completed, you will need to re-engage Opticomm to complete the connection.
Fees vary from estate to estate depending on the available infrastructure and services your developer has opted into. We can provide a quote of the costs involved if you send through your details. Please note that receiving a quote is not an obligation to proceed, and part payments are not available.
There is no obligation to proceed with the installation if you provide the form. We will only commence the connection process once payment has been received.
Provided the network is available and we have received payment, we can organise your connection within 7 business days or when your site supervisor has advised that your property is ready. Note: if there are any network faults impacting your connection, we will liaise with the network owner for rectification.
Once the Opticomm equipment has been installed to your home, a service will need to be applied for via your preferred retail service provider. Please apply for a relevant service plan with your chosen retailer for them to send out a router to connect your home network.
In eligible estates, Free-to-Air TV and Foxtel (dependent on requesting a service from them) can be received by connecting to Opticomm's network, meaning an antenna is not required for TV service. Please send through your address and we can advise if TV services are available in your estate.
Development Application FAQs

Yes. An NBN Development application will still need to be submitted to ensure that the new development has an allocated service in NBN's network. Please supply all required information and send through an enquiry for additional details.
STELA Group's management fee is quoted and dependent on the size of the development. Additional fees from NBN will apply, including the NBN Developer Contribution fee and the End User Contribution fee. Note: the End User Contribution fee is only applicable to homeowners applying for a service through their preferred retailer.
For Pit & Pipe works, we require sites to be at lock-up stage, clear of obstructions, scaffolding, rubbish, and materials. For internal pathways, we attend at rough-in stage (prior to plaster), fit-off stage (to mount internal equipment), and Final Inspection stage to ensure all criteria satisfy NBN's requirements.
For properties in FTTN, HFC, or FTTC areas, this will need to be arranged under a connection order with your chosen Retail Service Provider. For properties in FTTP areas, please contact us and we can arrange to have the equipment installed.
As an NBN trained supplier, STELA Group can complete, submit, and manage your development application to ensure each unit can receive a connection once ready to move in. We will require the proposed Plan of Subdivision, Working Drawings, and council-allocated street addressing. Please attach these to your enquiry below.
There is a minimum wait of 12 weeks from application submission. Please submit your details early to avoid any delays to your application.
Designs are required for medium to large developments. STELA Group can assess your site and advise when NBN CAD designs are a requirement for your application.
It is recommended that NBN accredited suppliers are engaged for these works to ensure industry guidelines are followed to satisfy NBN's requirements. NBN site inspections are compulsory. Installations that have not met the criteria can be defected and cause delays to your application.
We require a minimum of 1 week's notice to book in the required works. Please note that a Purchase Order or upfront payment is required to commence works.
Data Cabling, Antennas & Repairs
STELA Group provides an internal communications pathway to the desired NBN location within your premises. We will internally wire the preferred number of points (e.g. TV and data) within your home so that services are available at the required locations.
To provide an accurate quote, we will need to know the current stage of your build, whether your roof has tiles or Colorbond roofing, and whether your property is single or double storey. Please also advise if you require any additional TV points installed within your home.

A communications hub/cabinet provides a convenient space for all data and TV cables, splitters, and modems to be housed. Depending on the network owner of your home, it may be a requirement to have this installed. Please send through an enquiry if you would like a quote or further clarification.
